Research Professors
Won-Gyo Shin, Ph.D.
Won-Gyo recently joined the SNN Lab. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from Sungkyunkwan University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and Brain & Cognitive Sciences from Seoul National University. She then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Social Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at the University of Chicago and the Social Neuroscience Lab at Pusan National University. Her research explores how social and non-social resources are associated with human mind and behavior, utilizing behavioral, neuroimaging, and social network data.

Eunjin Lee, Ph.D.
Eunjin earned her B.A. in Human Ecology and Social Welfare from Chung-Ang University and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Social Welfare from Yonsei University. After that, she worked as a social worker at the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation and later as a research professor on the BK Project team at the School of Social Welfare, Yonsei University. Her research focuses on the biopsychosocial resources and mental health of older adults, with a particular emphasis on factors affecting the quality of life in the super-aged population.

Post-Master’s Researcher
Gayoung Choi
Gayoung is currently a post-master’s researcher at the SNN Lab. During her master’s studies, she employed causal mediation analysis and hierarchical linear modeling to investigate the relationship between social conditions and individual inequalities among older adults. Her recent research focuses on utilizing computational analysis methods to explore how social networks and knowledge influence individuals’ self-perception and knowledge formation. Prior to joining the SNN Lab, she earned both her B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from Sungkyunkwan University.

Graduate Students
Kiho Sung
Kiho earned his B.A. and M.A. in Sociology from Yonsei University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the same field. His research examines how the structure of social relationships shapes health outcomes across the life course. He also explores the neural foundations of social behavior and the social basis of brain function by integrating socio-centric network analysis with neuroimaging. Recently, his work has focused on the intersection of social science and artificial intelligence, investigating how AI can enhance social research and how social data science can offer new insights to academia and society.

Yeonjin Choi
Yeonjin is a master’s student majoring in Sociology at Yonsei University. She earned her B.A. in Sociology from Yonsei University in 2023 through an integrated undergraduate and graduate program, and also completed the requirements for teaching certification. Her research interests lie in social neuroscience and the biological foundations of social behavior. She examines how social network structures relate to genetic and neural mechanisms, exploring the interplay between social relationships and genetic predispositions in shaping cognitive and emotional processes across the lifespan, with implications for both mental and physical health.

Hyemin Yun
Hyemin is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Sociology at Yonsei University. Her primary research interest lies in understanding people’s perspectives and worldviews—not as isolated internal processes, but as socially embedded realities. She is particularly interested in how these perspectives are shaped through dynamic interactions with others and the broader social context, as well as how they influence society.

Hyunseo Cho
Hyunseo is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Sociology at Yonsei University. With a strong interest in network science using computational methods, her current research focuses on network perception based on network brokerage. Beyond her academic pursuits, she serves as the president of the Yonsei Amateur Astronomical Association and as an editor at the Yonsei Computer Club, aiming to bridge social network analysis with diverse fields.

Soyoung Park
Soyoung is a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Sociology and double majoring in Psychology at Yonsei University. Her research interests include areas in personality psychology, neuroscience, and criminology. Currently, she serves as a member of the executive board for the Neurocriminology Society.
